The quick answer
Modern Warfare 4 does not place traditional intel in every mission. Its campaign collectibles are concentrated in three missions: 64 Notes, of which 50 are enough for the Noteworthy trophy, and 26 Yellow Supply Crates, all in the tenth mission, Stranded. The notes split as four in Following Orders, 58 in Stranded, and two in Escape. The crates split into 24 static locations and two mobile crates: one on the train and one on the enemy convoy truck.
First, the numbers
| Item | Total | Where | Trophy threshold |
|---|---|---|---|
| Collectible Notes | 64 | Following Orders (4), Stranded (58), Escape (2) | Read 50 different notes for Noteworthy |
| Yellow Supply Crates | 26 | All in Stranded: 24 static, train, convoy truck | Open every crate for Time to Crate |
| Following Orders contraband and notes | All items in that mission | Four notes plus contraband | No Stone Unturned |
| Escape Dog Tags | 1 | Safe in Escape | Never Forgotten |
The Following Orders branch has one avoidable loss inside a single run: if you leave the hiding civilian in the crawlspace, you lose the final note. Use the dialogue that tells her the traitor has been found and it is safe to come out. Mission select makes a replay possible, so the published trophy guide lists no permanently missable trophies.

All 26 Yellow Supply Crates
The crate contents are assigned by how many crates you have opened, not by the location. Every crate therefore counts, even if its immediate reward is supplies or armor plates.

Efficient collection route
- In Following Orders, search the first house thoroughly. Read the recipe note, open the toolbox with 214, and talk the hidden civilian out before leaving the building.
- In Stranded, start at Base Camp. Take the nearby container note, climb the radio tower, then clear outposts to unlock fast travel. Clear an outpost, loot its associated building, and move to the next coordinate instead of crossing the map twice.
- Open any yellow crate inside a shipping container as soon as possible. Its intel marks other locked containers, which reduces aimless searching.
- In Escape, finish the first office note, wait for the guard to leave, read the updated code, and open the safe with 8410 before proceeding.
What the crates award
The reward sequence is fixed by crate count. Notable milestones are crate 1: Wz.55 Striga Rampage, crate 3: Sang 9mm Silenced plus a note, crate 5: backpack upgrade plus a note, crate 8: Rezi 12 with explosive rounds, crate 11: Type 73 LMG, crate 19: silenced Hyeon Burst with thermal scope, and crate 25: X-Void SMG with subsonic rounds. The remaining rewards are supplies, armor, equipment, or other weapons, so opening every crate still matters for Time to Crate.
